Highlights from Guy’s catalogue of over 100 compositions he has written for accordion since 1982, from his first album, “Scenes From a Mirage” (Review Records), to his recordings for Winter & Winter (“The Heart of the Andes” and “Accordion Misdemeanors,”) and Tzadik (“Dancing on the Volcano”).

Note: for venues without an acoustic grand piano, this program can be done with two accordions and melodica.

Guy Klucevsek and Alan Bern create music with imagination and soul, from the traditional to the eclectic and cutting-edge.

Klucevsek and Bern first played together in the 1998 project, Accordion Tribe II: Four Accordions of the Apocalypse, which also included Pauline Oliveros and Amy Denio.

Their duo program features music from their two recordings, Notefalls (2007) and Accordance (2001), both on the highly-regarded independent label, Winter & Winter (Munich). says of their 2001 Winter &Winter release, Accordance, “These two are at the absolute height of their profession. I can think of none more proficient, skillful, diverse and adept in the…accordion-playing world.”

About their Winter & Winter release, Notefalls, CMJ New Music Report says, “absolutely beautiful and soul-stirring.”

The Chicago Reader says, “gorgeous, meditative melodies and stunning harmonic interplay.”

Todd Reynolds, violin

Guy’s latest project is a duo with Todd Reynolds, violinist of choice for Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, Bang on a Can, and founder of the string quartet known as ETHEL. This virtuosic duo features some of Guy’s most powerful and heart-breakingly beautiful music, including his compositional tributes to Astor Piazzolla, Erik Satie, Kepa Junkera, Ivan Milev, and The Swingle Singers, some of which is featured on his most recent release, The Multiple Personality Reunion Tour (innova), in different orchestrations.
